Missouri United Methodist Church | June 2022 - Present

As the Director of Youth Ministries I plan and supervise programs and activities for 6th through 12th grade youth. I am rebuilding the existing program through stabilizing activities such as Sunday School and Youth Group as well as occasional events such as retreats, mission trips, and fundraisers. My goal in this position is to create safe and healthy spaces for youth to explore their faith and questions about God and life together through engaged listening and understand. I also serve as the NextGen Manager supervising the Director of Children and Family Ministries as well as the Neighborhood College Ministry Director to plan and coordinate cohesive education goals for children, youth and young adults of the church.

Building the youth program through youth activities such as: youth group, Sunday School, fundraisers, mission trips and conferences. Manage administrative duties including registration, budgeting, Youth Ministry Team coordination, volunteer staffing, and writing curriculum. Fostering long-term relationships through effective listening, leading and volunteering with safe boundaries for youth and adults. Increasing youth attendance by 35% in the midst of the pandemic, utilized online presence through apps such as Instagram, TikTok, GroupSpot and more. Growing our fundraising profits by 43% over the three and a half years through our Annual Trivia Night and Apple Pie Fundraiser. Allowing us to keep costs low for our Youth Mission Trips and Conferences.

Assisted the Director of Youth Ministries in administrative duties such as registration, planning, and leadership for trips and events. Served as a responsible adult role model. Was available to youth and their families while also working to create healthy boundaries that nurture personal long-term effectiveness throughout the summer and beyond.

Averaging 50 calls a day to clients, references and candidates, I worked to build and maintain relationships with clients in and around the Kansas City area. Specifically working in Contract and Contract-to-Hire to match quality candidates with the right companies. My team specialized in recruiting individuals in web development, network and system engineers, project managers, and creative prospects.

Interim director of youth ministries

First Presbyterian Church | November 2016 - June 2017

The tasks of the Interim Youth Director include preparation for and leadership of weekly youth group meetings and youth Sunday school classes, recruitment of adult volunteers to assist the youth minister, coordination with church staff, and communication with youth and parents. During my short time there, overhauled the churches website completely updating to a more user friendly model for updated communications to members, prospective visitors, and employers.
